What is this worth?

    So I bought this dendrophyllia from Vivid a year ago as a single head with a small head at the base. Now it has became 15+ heads and about 3" wide and tall. Its by far my favorite but I thought I might be able to get something new with it.

    Anyways Im interested in selling it but wanted to get a realistic price. When I priced it by the heads @ $45/large and $40/med it came out to $625. I know they are an expensive coral, but does that sound right?

    If you are an online vendor, then you can get away with crazy prices like that. But if you are wanting to sell from one hobbyist to another, I would go with about $20-$25 a head.

    Per polyp prices aren't exactly scalable when you start to talk about colonies.

    Here's an example of what $650 of Dendro's gets you:

    Why the heck would u sell him.I would frag him a d sell a couple of heads if I needed money but if I didn't that prize piece of dendro would be front and center so all could see its beauty.15 heads of that branching strain its not Flathead would go for 90$.I got a 60 head piece for 150$ from my lfs. Here is the pic of the piece after I frAgged it kept a 8 head piece.this guy glows in my tank and has added a couple more heads and is open 24/7.when I got it from the lfs it was starving and took me a month of the tupperware treatment to bring it back boy was it worth it.I sold single large heads for 25$ and frags of 4 to 7 heads for 60$.they were all healthy and opened 24/7 before I sold them. I made some money and got mine for free.I also had a colony of black branching suns that I brought back from death and now they are open 24/7.I made some 50/50 frags that sold for 80$ half black half oranges ieven spaced some 1 black 1 orange 1 black 1 orange you get what I mean I did 8 in row and made 4 frags of them that way they looked so cool.also they both have bred in my tank I have colonies of both popping up everywhere so cool.do not get rid of youres yet soon u will have enough to sell and keepsome foryoureself
