I am aware of "Reefkeeping" online and "Advanced Aquarist" but I need info on some good magazine subscriptions for myself and others, especially mags on FOWLR and REEFS. ;)  (Tis the season Y'all!!  [smiley=party014.gif])

What I am looking for is advice from all of you experienced reefers and fishheads out there in 3reefland...specifically cutting edge techniques in husbandry, stocking and fish choices, maintenance, and design.  [smiley=book2.gif]

Just so you know, I did not add the poll at the top...if I had there would actually be something being polled, but if you guys can figure it out more power to you !!

Coral Magazine is the best. It is a reef mag but covers a lot. THey even have an issue dedicated to Lion Fish.

Ditto on Coral Magazine. Lots of great articles and hardly any adverts.

Coral would be the best for us reefers. I also love to get my Tropical Fish Hobbiest mag every month to. They have some great stuff in there.

Just a thought, the December issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist has a 2 for 1 offer on their subscription. You send your brother a Sub and you get one for free. :)

OK...hate to be a hater, but I was not thrilled with the content of Coral mag. (ducking spitballs!)

Don't get me wrong now! I only got 2 issues, the Lionfish one, and the Nudibranch one. Neither of which I have any great interest in. The pics are absolutely beautiful and it is full of pics. Perhaps the other articles were over my head.

Adverts are also a good place to get info on products so, to me, less adverts is not always a good thing. Plus it costs 6 bucks an issue.

    Just my 2 cents!

OK, I was bored yesterday and did a page count for Tropical Fish Hobbyist and came up with this:

    Total number of pages: 161
Total number of pages with articles: 91
Total number of pages with articles regarding salt/reef: 30 (9 pages of that was Q&A).

Adverts do have their place but when they dominate a magazine like that, it's no wonder that TFH can keep their subscription prices low.

Catch me tomorrow and I might have a page count for Coral Magazine. I need to get a life :)
