just got home and its one hell of a hot day today here in Switzerland, checked the thermometer in the tank and its flirting with the 30 mark.

I just put two 1.5 L plastic bottels in the freezer i plan to use as giant ice cubes to cool things down. anyone done this in the past, does it work, where should i place?

I have frozen RODI in the past in a container i can get the water out of, then once it is a big cube i put it in my sump near high flow so it mixes well before it hits my DT.

sure, that's a way to start. Another would be pointing a fan at the surface water. evaporative cooling

    you have an ATO?

for the moment i cant be bothered to freez large RODI water cubes, hence why ill use these bottles, once the water melted i can take the whole thing out without adding anything nasty from my tap water to the system.

but if it continues like this i might just consider doing that

definitely don't put frozen tap in your system, keep that contained they way you are doing.

thumbs up on the ato, If you do the fan method, you're going to burn thru your top off water quicker.
