I thought about that but it just seemed like there is more to go wrong in the build. I was thinking of running my return through the overflow box so that the pipe would add a bit of support to the box.

I guess so, however, then you have to seall all theexists through the overflow well, or else it will drian alot more in a power out.
I bonded the glass on my C2C with the RTV 100 series silicone, and cleaned the sufaces well with alcohol and dried before I did it. I feel my overflow box is structurally sound.
I have my return going over the top, and just under the surface of the running height.
In a power out, the DT drops about 1/8" and suck air to break the siphon on the return.
The drains siphon out most of the water in the C2C also, My sump is very big though, and only rises about 1".

Lots of ways to 'skin a cat', definitely use what you feel is right/good, make it how you want it,
I'm sure it will come out well.

The box will not need support since it's adhered to the glass with silicone. If you take (for example) a 10 gallon tank fill it with water and then take an empty 5 gallon tank sit it inside the 10 gallon it just floats. If you add water to the 5 gallon it will slowly sink pushing water out of the ten gallon. Only when the 5 gallon is filled all the way will it sink to the bottom. The point is that the water under the C2C is supporting the glass. Even if the C2C was filled all they way then there will be no weight to the C2C.

I noticed the siphon side taking a long time to purge the air when I'd shut down the return pump during feeds.
I would have to manually block the secondary side, change the valve on the siphon, etc., to finally get it to balance out again and run quiet and on full siphon.

I had the end of the siphon side going about 3 inches underwater where it empties to the skimmer section- which stays constant height anyways.- This was the problem. That little bit extra underwater on the end was keeping it from purging the air easily.

I cut the pipe so it's now about 1/2 inch under.
It now restarts itself, and purges the air in the siphon line in 3 minutes of less without touching anything.

So now I can hit my feed button on my RP, feed frozen/whatever, and let it restart without anymore effort on my part.
Now, the secondary side does not even go to full siphon, and when it purges the air, little is any flow goes thru the secondary side.

Another productive easy fix! Now it's a no touch restart to normal operation again.

My glass has been ordered and should be in next week so it will be time to build the Bean Animal/ Todd overflow. Picking up a Reeflow Hammerhead this weekend for my return pump and just got plexi to start doing the sump. I had been tinkling of how to dial in the system once it is set up but it sounds as if it s fairly simple as long as I get the return flow in the general area of where it should be. I ll probably start a build thread in a week or two so I can get daily guidance!

Your upcoming build sounds good. If you have it to do, I'd go with the 3 holes/drains to the sump for that much more added redundancy/safety.

You only have 2 drain lines with your setup instead of 3 like the BA system correct?
