I have 6 fancy goldfish in a 30 gallon tank. Two are large. Four are still small.

Yeah, but if you have 6 fancy goldfish in a 30 gallon tank, will they only grow to the size that the tank will permit ?

The tank does not deny growth. It's not relevant. The idea that a glass box can somehow impede genetic disposition is a myth.

I have a 10 gallon with a large veiltail goldfish & a medium sized comet. They have been doing well for over a year now. They won't reach maximum growth, but that is ok with me. I'm not about to buy an 80 gallon tank for 2 goldfish as bid as a bass. :)))

In my 30 gallon I have 1 parrot & 3 rosey barbs. Would it be overcrowed if I added 1 large veiltail gold fish & a medium sized comet ?

I'm trying to free up my 10 gallon for guppies & neons.

You do not want to mix tropicals and goldfish. Goldfish are cold water fish.

You're right, but they can live quite comfortably @ temperatuures up to 80. I have mine @ about 74 now.

I've had them in my 80 degree tank & they were fine. My question is space.

    Tank Size

I have a 30 gallon tank with excellent fitration, airation & I do weekly water changes. In it now is a parrot, 3 rosey barbs & a pleco.

I'd like to add a large veiltail goldfish & a medium sized comet. I know goldfish are cold water fish, but I have had them in tanks up to 80F & they have been fine.

My question is, given the information I have given you, do you think my tank would still be overcrowed ?
