Went down to feed my fish and my Venustus Angelfish looks like his gill is protruding out. Anyone ever seen anything like this or know what to do....I'm worried he/she will die soon.

I've seen it before in an older clownfish. It swelled up to about the size of a bean over the course of a week then disappeared. The fish is fine to this day. Not sure what happened or how, hopefully someone else will be more helpful.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Mycobacterium marinum would be my first guess. Do not get too alarmed over the possibility of contracting this bacteria from your tank, just be knowledgeable.

I'm not sure about what may be wrong but the fish looks pretty healthy otherwise - is it eating?

Totally unrelated to your question - where are you in Cincinnati?

He eats and looks fine other than the gill. I'm in the Loveland area.
