Theres a story about great whites swimming up a river in new jersey that killed a few people swimming. They called it the "jersey man eater". Its very common for sharks to be found in freshwater. A lot the baby sharks live in brackish to freshwater at river mouths.

Great, I was watching about them snake head fish. God, they are wierd.........now they are in our lakes/rivers because 1 man who bought a male and female wanted to make a "medicinal stew" for his sister who had the flu..........but she recovered, and he wanted to give her "Good Karma" so he let them go in a lake near a river. An voila they took over the lake. When there was no more food there, the snake heads used that ability to come out of water and move around......cause they can live without water for TWO DAYS, and went into the rivers..........

They are everywhere in North Florida. Albeit, not quite to that extent in size.
