I am a science fiction buff, and I am old enough to have seen all previous Godzilla movies. Godzilla was a movie I was really looking forward to. Yes some past Godzilla features were absolutely horrible, but I had heard enough about this new Godzilla venture to enthusiastically go to the opening day.

The writer of Godzilla did a piece in which he outlined his vision of the movie. An important aspect was that you wait for Godzilla. The writer compared it to other movie greats such as Jaws, were you do not see the shark in it's entirety until well into the movie. Well after reading the write up I was hooked.

Godzilla was good, not great, but pretty good.

A movie I did not anticipate liking or show much interest in was Million Dollar Arm. It's another 100 F day here so what the hey to the theater again. It's wonderful when you do not have high expectation for a movie and then love it from start to finish.

If you can only go see one of these movies I recommend Million Dollar Arm.

Until next time, your arm chair movie critic. :p

PS if you see either movie let me know what you think. :)

    It's certainly not for everyone.
    You're very welcome Mindy.

I would love to add to this but I do not want to be a spoiler. They did some very interesting things and did stay true to the old style Godzilla.

Actually I thought is was very well done and enjoyed it, but it will not be huge past the next couple weekends. Million Dollar Arm, will run strong for longer and is a superior movie and I am not a baseball fan.

This movie gives you a lot of backround on how Godzilla came to be, that was the best part. Special effect were very good. Dang spoilers.....I would love to be more detailed. I will say this, a Marine Godzilla out at sea is a sight to behold.

I definitely enjoyed it! I thought from the trailer Godzilla would be fighting Rodan, but I liked who he fought. Wish there was more fighting, but I feel like it definitely sparked interest in the younger crowd enough I have no doubt they may produce another Godzilla movie.

I watched all of the Godzilla movies when I was a kid too. Several times. The smog monster gave me nightmares for weeks! That being said, I'm not all that interested in the new movie but may check it out on DVD.
