    how did you train it to stay away from the clam? I have some softies and LPS she doesn't appear to nip them so i shouldn't have a problem right?

    every time she went near it or looked at it i would swat her away. also put algae strips on the oposite side of the tank until she left it alone. if she doesnt nip at other corals i wouldnt think she would start with a clam. just watch her for the first couple of days.

    Just thought I should mention that broken up abalone shells make perfect bases for clams.

    Here on the northern california coast they are very easy to come by, which may not be the case everywhere else, but for me they work fantastic.

    Also, just to add another perspective, I have a Cherub Pygmy Angel and the little fella has never nipped at my clam. I saw a thread right here on 3reef that took a poll on cherubs being reef safe. The poll suggested that something like %95 of cherubs would be reef safe, and for me that statistic turned out to be accurate. Just an idea for those who are set on having an angel fish in a reef system.

    I have a Coral Beauty and I have never seen her nip at my corals. :)

    I have two clams, a crocea and squamousa. My coral beauty doesn't bother them at all or my corals. Loves live rock though
