So, with the upcoming upgrade, I wanted to take the opportunity to upgrade my return line and add some tees, so I can hook up a UV, GFO, and a couple to grow on.

Is there a good design out there that is easy to plumb and use and maintain? Am I looking for a holy grail? I've been searching for days now and there are so many different styles, that I end up confusing myself.

Here is the room I have to work with. I got a smoking deal on a waveline dc5000, so that's going to be the new pump. Here's a shot of my sump room. I would love for this to look as good as it works too...

The black line is my return, the clear towards the top is the UV, no GFO shown.

I found this website that has much much more than menards/HD/Lowes has on their shelves.

    Thanks!

so, to kick things off. I'm thinking of running a horizontal line parallel to the top of the tank. Then running some udders down that I can hook up to, then running back to the return section. I plan on putting a ball valve at each udder and then a master ball valve after each udder for more fine tuning.
I can make a wicked crappy mspaint sketch...

I built one out of PVC Seen it on someones build awhile back. Well worth it. The best part is the valves come apart if necessary.

I like that. Then you can have an assortment of attachments to hook up to your ball valves. The black ball valve, is that your return "master" valve?

Yes...the design above is great. I would change it to all Tee's pointing downward, however, to pressurize the accessory lines easier.

The returns have plenty of flow. The Tees pointing downward don't really change that much. The valves create enough pressure to get the flow you want.
The black valve controls the main returns. The other three are for the chiller, diy reactor, and water changes. Recently added a fourth for a seperate Refugium.

I think it's going to come down to how you can mount it vs your area. I will be able to put mine pointing down, but just cause I have the room. Although, I bet it's easier to get to the ball valves pointing upwards.

What pump are you running? That looks like 1" or 1 1/2" spa flex?

Thanks!!! This is what I needed to get my mind over the edge and get a design going.

1" Spa flex past the valves it's reduced to 3/4" PVC. The 3/4" Gives the pump enough back pressure to push the water out through all avenues.
