Thanks, I don't have a skimmer as it's only 20 gallons and I perform water changes weekly, I have added a phos pad to my built in filter...

LOL I have a 20 gallon and can say that a skimmer will change you world view on algae in a tank that small. even a cheep odysea has done wonders for the algae, also algae fix by API helps if you somewhat fix the problem.

Cheers, I'll look into that, you hear mixed views on whether you need it, but it's worth a go hey.

The red bubble algae has come back, removing manually has done nothing. I am feeding every other day, should I feed even less? Lights are on 6 hours a day.

Phos is at zero and all other params are in check! I'm not sure how to get rid or just wait it out!??

I put a Eshopps PSK-75H Hang On protein skimmer on my 27gl that has 3 fish and corals and you would be shocked at the dark stinky crap the skimmer pulls, empty it a couple times a week(about half full).

Also emerald crabs eat bubble algae..not a solution completely but with clean water can help keep things in check.

Also are you using tap water for your water changes or do you have an ro/di unit.

I'm using RO/Di water, a skimmer must be the option....

    skimmer is definitely an option...

I am running a 75g with a ton of LR, a HOB with carbon and a remora pro skimmer. My skimate is not heavy @ all, adjusting height does nothing for color for me-mine is usually clear water unless I let it build up then it is green slime. My RBA is on the L side of the tank in front of the HOB filter which put oxygen into the water with the filtered water, leads me to believe this might be part of the issue.

I will do a manual removal soon with peroxide included and try to separate the two applications so I can report on workings. Then test for nutrient spike.

I can not raise pH because if I were to leave the lights on for allotted time I will get RBA outbreak (which I have now).

Wondering if Kalk drip might suppress it in anyway.

I will C what this does but if I can see no spike then my next step is a foxface-the right kind/size of course.
