Anyone Know what these are? I know the pictures is not very clear. The tank is new, about a month old. They look kinda like little scaly eggs? or something along the glass of the tank. They seem to appear over night. there are 3 of them. they are scrubbed off pretty easy with the algae scraper. The only organisims i have added to the tank are Astrea snails, Narssisus snails, red legged hermits and a emerald crab.

    Any ideas?

My guess is that they are snail eggs!

Hard to tell in pic, but if they are in a zig zag pattern I would bet that they are snail egg trails.

Narssisus snail eggs. I've never seen Astrea snails leave egg sacks,

They did the same thing in one of my tanks.

    so should i leave them?

Does that mean i will get new baby snails?

Now that you say eggs i feel bad for scrubbing a few of them off.

    Will they hatch?

I'd leave 'em, but that's just my gut reaction. I have cerith snails that have left egg tracks regularly; and finally last month I noticed several tiny white snails on a rock. I don't know how many will survive to adulthood but we'll see. If you get snails from them just consider it an added bonus, or give them away if you have too many.

I have been leaving them in my tank. Noticed that the fish will quickly make a meal of them. They don't tend to last more than about 3 days. I don't know if they would ever hatch...
