That observation of induced reproduction may not be far off

The red mushrooms I tried to kill with straight 35% have pedally lacerated likely due to tissue insult but not enough to cause death

This remarks further of the interesting and stark tolerances to peroxide across aquarium inhabitants
    ,
its been helpful to have threads over different boards
With a very high degree of reliability the organisms known as both sensitive and tolerant repeat across websites

I shot straight peroxide on the rock and then let it sit for a few minutes. I rinsed in salt water and think that would be best bet. If you are doing a water change at the same time just fill a container with enough to rinse the rocks in.

Thanks for info. I look forward to this. I only have half my water made so it will have to wait until tomorrow. I'll start a new thread with results in a few days.

Sounds good. I need to work out the logistics of trying to do every rock in my tank almost lol.

Brandon, can you clear up these questions I have about the above quotes?

For someone like myself who wants to dip the rocks in a solution for 5 minutes, what is the required amount to use per gallon?

The above posts that I've quoted are very confusing, starting off with 50/50, 50%, and then you end up saying 1-2mls per gallon?

I dipped some rocks last night, the solution was 2.5 gallons of saltwater mixed with 1/4 cup of 3% peroxide.
But what is the recommened dip solution?
    Thanks

Hi! Those are all various doses people use. 1-2 mls per gallon when dosing the tank, after the inhabitants have been checked against the sensitive species list, and for dipping they use half 3% half saltwater

I would only use emersed spot treatments or in tank, drained spot treatments. My technique is target only application

Why dip a whole rock when you can target dose the invader only

this thread is a monster of q and a for additional reading. Its helpful due to the pictures and number of people reviewing different application methods

I'm going to try this method on one of my rocks tomorrow. This one particular rock seems to be prone to hair algae while others around it are fine. It doesn't seem to matter where I move it in the tank.....I'm also going to do a water change and rinse the rock in the saltwater from what I remove. If I ever figure out how to post pictures, I can show results, it should be quite apparent since it's this one quite large rock.

    Give it a go!
Here is an update on my experience. After 2nd application and hitting some spots I missed, all nasties have been banished. It has been several months without a re-occurrence. My rocks and I are very happy.

After I read the other suggested threads, I might try it too!
