Doing maintenance in my tank and noticed that my star polyps were touching my open brain. I moved it and noticed that it was showing its skeleton where the GSP were touching it. The rest of the brain is healthy and is eating well. Will it grow back tissue or will it continue to receed? I was thinking of dipping it but I don't want to stress it out anymore.

It will repair itself as long as your water is good.;)
Dipping is very beneficial to the coral (depending on the dip and timing)not stressfull. If it was stressfull we wouldn't want to dip our sick or injured corals at all.;)
Looks a little bleached out to me.(might be the pic )They do very well on the sb so if its an option for you you may want to relocate it now.

Soft corals are by no means defenseless.
