Adding fish to fast can cause stress which in turn can make them more susceptible to diseases. Not saying that's what caused it but it doesn't help. I would concentrate on getting the tank stable for a while before replacing them. Sorry you lost them, it socks to loose fish.

I dono but for sure im not adding any fish for 3mnths. Jus corals and inverts. As iv read that velvet and ich pores die after 72 days of no fish.. im sure my tank paras are good as i had added a half dead brittlestar and it has recovered. I still feel its the voltage current tht caused stress and then got affected by ich then velvet. There was nothing else to stress them they were eating and kept playing all the time. Im investing in few eheim pumps and getting rid of those chineese pumps tht im using. Keeping fingers crossed.. it was sad for me to watch them die in front of me.. never had velvet problem before, its far more dangerous then ich.. also plannin on a qt..

if im not mistaken inverts and sessile can indirectly carry ich as well.......but as iv mentioned before a healthy fish can combat ich easily (cant say as much for velvet since iv never had first hand experience with it...*knock on wood*). if your fish died from ich it means there is another graver issue at hand. you should focus on figuring that out
