pvc overflows chug and belch if I turn flow up. At higher flows, should airflow through the vent

  3. Doesn't matter, capacity is set by pipe flow resistance, air flow is irrelevant.

Got my new rio 2100 hooked up to the new manifold and installed, if not totally finished (still need to finish the return outlet in the DT) but it's in and running. Got the mark 1 $5 reactor hooked up and running too, with a bottle of phosguard bubbling along nicely, hopefully starving some maroon algae into oblivion some time soon.

As expected, I can't run the pump full bore because my 3/4 inch overflows can't keep up without chugging and belching air and generally making a ton of noise. Not sure if I need to add more air holes in the cap at the top of the vent stack on the overflows or plug up a couple to get them to smooth out. But... the manifold is letting me adjust the backflow into the return section of the sump quite nicely, so I can adjust the flow up to the tank while I tweak the overflows. I've got the parts to do another reactor to hook up, just not sure what I want to run in it, so haven't finished that one yet.

anyway, had to get this up and running so I can take the old return pump and mod it to run my diy skimmer I'm hoping to start on tomorrow. So.. Comments, suggestions, questions, any input welcome.
