Just added this guy, got a good deal on him at our least favorite fish store, he only been in their tank for a week, so I thought he would still be in fair to good health. He is quite big and got nice color. Is there anything I should know about this guy?

i keep mine away from any water flow in a corner thats what i was told to do. and throw a few pieces of random dead shrimp or fish in there to feed him when you see the tenticals out

Actually Scuba ken, I think its just starting to retract, he hasen't even been in there for 24 hours and was tight as could be when he was pulled out of the tank at Petco. I have had great luck in Corals getting much better in my tank when bought from petco, hopefully this luck continues.

mine is under my powerhead so it is very little flow at all.. and yes they have feeding tenticals that will come out from time to time. throw some small pieces of meat on them and it will eat them. i keep him away from all my other coral for now in the sand bed he is growing quite nice in the few months i have had him. just keep an eye on your calcium levels also

hhhmm! time to make so small re-arrangements in the tank. How long do those tantacals get? He is going to be tough to get in the sand bed, the base he is on is guite big and long and he is pretty heavy, he surely is going to need some support.

Kind looks like I may have a neon green also, that would be nice. What about lighting, I just turned on my MH and like he is right under the middle where its more intense, I am sure I need to start looking for a new home, then leave it be.

from what i have read middle to low part of tank moderate lighting. i use led lights at 50% and he seems happy. here is some info tho. The Green Bubble Coral has grape-like polyps and can extend sweeper tentacles that emit a sting. These sweeper tentacles can reach up to 5 or 6 inches if it feels threatened by a neighboring coral. Placement can either be on the sand or rockwork. Green Bubble Coral differs from the rest of the group because of the striking green metallic coloration. The green coloration can range from very light to very dark shades of green. Depth of coloration depends on lighting and supplemental feedings. Green Bubble Corals may likely come to you in lighter shades than the picture provided, but will quickly color up providing the proper parameters and requirements are met. Bubble Corals prefer moderate light. (A good example of moderate light is a 65 watt light over a 25 gallon aquarium.)
    Diet
Though these corals are mostly photosynthetic, they benefit from a small piece of raw table shrimp, frozen mysis shrimp or silverside once a week. After the lights turn out these corals will extend feeding tentacles and will quickly accept foods. Can be target fed with Kent Marine’s SeaSquirt Feeder, available in the Aquarium Supplies section of this website.
