Hey guys im from india, this is my first time with bulkheads, its cpvc, they came with 2 gaskets. Here is what iv read online, but still confused...

    1) add gasket only on inside of the tank and dont use any silicone.

    2) add gasket on both the sides

    3) silicone ur entire gasket and use it on the inside and nut on the outside

    4) keep gasket on the indside and use silicone on the outside, then tighten with nut, let it dry.

    5) use an industrial grade putty and seal on the outside.

Well guys i want a permanent leakproof seal, i dont mind using silicone and putty both. I also dont mind if the seal is permanent. Plz help.. here is wat i have.

You're gonna want to use just one gasket--on the opposite side as the nut. Hand tighten (then a tiny bit more, imo) Keep things flush and you'll be fine. You can over-tighten and crack your glass (especially on smaller tanks with thinner glass). You can leak test before making any permanent connections or gluing as well. Silicone is not necessary to my knowledge.

What is it you don't trust about the gasket? It looks like any other gasket I've seen or used with a bulkhead. You said this is your first time working with them. Follow the advice given and see what happens, is my recommendation.

Try soaking it in hot water for a bit. That should help restore it.
