My clownfish won't close it's mouth HELP

Sorry to be harsh but you should of done your homework first, added a damsel instead of 2 clowns 1 month into tank matureing, as for the anemones, 1 is enough let alone 2 and added way to soon, my tanks been matureing for 2 and half months, and i will not be adding one for another 3 & half months, be prepared for the worst, having said that they may pull through, keep us updated & good luck...

ps, what size is the tank and what are the water parameters?

 

We did have damsels but they got too territorial so we gave them to a friend of ours who has a tank. I've had damsels before and they are way too agressive when you try to put anythng else in the tank. They started attacking the crabs and shrimp and we don't want an agressive tank. And I was mistaken it has been two months that we have had the tank which my roommate informed me of this morning.

Our water is good and we do our regular tests periodically.

I spoke to the man at the fish store and we are bringing our little clown in today so they can check him out. Hopefully everything turns out ok.

 

it is possible, that being only 1 month mature, and adding 2 anemones, you could have caused a major ammonia/nitrite spike. Was your tank fully cycled before you started everything to it? Should really check your water param's and post them for people to have a look. I'm not sure if taking him out of his environment and bringing him somewhere is going to help him if he is ill, it may just contribute to the stress. I would however, get rid of both of those anemones immediately as it is likely that either of them will survive being in such a new tank. That's just my two cents. But remember, this hobby is about going slowly, becoming educated, and being patient. Going too fast and rushing to add things to your tank is just a recipe for disaster.

 

YAY he is fine we jsut needed more oxygen. We took him in to the fish doctors and when we got him there he wasn't gasping for air. So we got some more bubbles in the tank and he seems to be fine. Thank goodness I was worried about the little guy.

You can run an airstone for more O2 in the tank, or just get a powerhead pointing up toward the middle to keep the water surface agitated.
Good to hear the clown is going to be ok. Has he already closed his mouth yet? Does he eat food now?
