What is the purpous of changing the water after medication has been put in the water? Is ther any medication that you can use and not have to do a water change? Its such a drag to have to change 30% of the water when it is a 150g tank.

beats me why they change the water I have never followed that line of thought what I do is run 1/2 cup of good quality carbon per 25 gallons of tank water for about 3 day and then change that out and replace it then follow this for about 5 changes and crank the skimmer back up when toy start the carbon I have used this method all the time with water tinging from antibiotic's its always worked just fine for me. I see no need tochange water..

They want you to remove any ammonia, nitrite and nitrate build up from dead bacteria in the tank, thats all. Depending on the brand of antibiotic, some will recommend water changes during treatment and others will have you do it after the treatment.
