    Hanna Checker Ca: 547
Red Sea test kit Ca: 360.

Hanna Checker Alk: 150 ppm/8.4 dkh once, 157 ppm/8.7 dkh.
    Salifer Alk: 6.5 twice.

All test kits are new, Hanna Ca is brand new. Hanna Alk may need to be calibrated against a test sample?

I am leaning towards, the values of 547 and 6.5, acropora are mad, they'll survive but I may pull out all my hair testing and getting wacko results ugggggggg.

Followed directions to a tee and repeated test ugggggg.

Run out of ways to double check my values.

    Help.

Yeah only an 80 mile round trip. Trust me, I am pretty confident I do a better job than the vast majority of LFS employees at testing and using test kits. No yeah no.:p

My Hannah alk checker has been pretty stable... on occasion I have got a misreading so tested again. Red Sea ALK would be approximately a drop difference, meaning if 8dkh on Hannah I would only do 7 drops on the Red Sea. Just saying.

Have not used the Hannah CAL. I am fairly happy with my Red Sea Pro Cal test seems to be pretty accurate.

Yes test kits frustrate the hell out of me also. I think we get obsessed with the testing. Yes there is mostly stability in our readings but all off us experience the misread no matter what we test with. Key is just breath and no knee jerk unless everything looks like #### then throw the kitchen sink at it!!! ha hahaha

I would tend to believe the Hannah ALK checker. That difference in your 2 Hannah readings really could be related to slight difference in sample water or slightly more reagent(my theory).

It really would be interesting to have all the different Manufacturer test kits (all new) and get a group people together and run all the different tests and get the results.. I think it would be rather interesting.

What are your Acropora doing that makes you question things(being fairly new to Acropora may be helpful to me to watch out for) ! I assume all your other params are in order?

    Anyways following along!!

You may want to get a new glass vial Cheryl.I have read that if the vial has tiny scratches it can alter the result. They give a special cleaning cloth for them now I believe

Hanna Ca is pretty notorious for being quite sensitive to the RODI addition, and therefore a bit inconsistent. I'd trust the Red Sea kit there.

On the Alk front, did you cross check the Salifert kit with the standard included in the box?
