They grow and spread quickly in my tank. They are planted, mostly, in the crevices of my rocks - which are stacked, large, and basically impossible to remove. It would be impossible to cut most of them off with a razor blade. There are areas that need "pruning" and I need to get rid of them (no desire to frag in this case). They are encroaching on my stylophlora and other more desirable corals. What are the best options to keep them at bay? I've seen a few recommendations for kalk paste or even a Mojano wand.

By the way, if there's anyone in the Oakland area that would like to harvest some, I'd be happy to donate some frags for free. I have several different colors.

You could try super glueing over them (make them retract into their crevice then apply glue over it) this works well for aiptasia for me. Or simply put a rock over the closest ones. Kalk paste doesn't work.

I tried a the Majano wand once upon a time on my shrooms.
It would 'cut' a piece/tissue, but they would grow back, I've probably got 100's to a 1,000 or more of the green stirped discoma shhroms.
Not as much of a pest as my purple encrusting gorognean though!

Yeah, I've got red ones, green ones, blue ones, etc. They are cool, but they start to take over the tank and encroach on others.

Va Reef, do you actually submerge the entire tube of superglue and shoot it on that way? I've tried putting it on the end of a chopstick and then trying to apply it, and it doesn't work very well. I think buying some cheap superglue in a squeeze tube would probably work better. Anyone else have some techniques that work well?

Is a chair and bullwhip not an options?

If it were me, I'd sell the rock back to an LFS and get fresh rock.

I tried the chair and the bull whip but it made a huge mess.

I can't replace the rock because it would mean replacing my entire tank and corals. It's 5-6 years old and very well established. I'd rather just keep them at bay.
