I have really hight calcium, like off the chart high. Alk and pH is perfect, 11dkh and 8.4. My question is what will this hurt. I know the high calcium stems from the salt I have been using. Fairly new to the hobby so please all input is welcome.

What's the calcium number and what's your magnesium at? High calcium can precipitate and cause unstable alkalinity in the tank.

Well, I'm not test my mag. I will start tomorrow, I need to get a test kit from my lfs. I stopped test my calcium at 620ppm. My Alk I dose so it's good. And so is my pH.

I am wondering if I should let the calcium drop on its own or do a waterchange with another brand of salt.

You really need to get a mag test kit. Magnesium creates the equilibrium between calcium and alkalinity. Let it come down on its own but keep testing alk and calcium weekly.

If your calcium is actually at >620 then yes, this will absolutely irritate corals.

I highly doubt that number is accurate . I would purchase a new calcium kit or have your lfs test it.o

I will retest, I hope it's wrong.... but I also had a peppermint shrimp in my hammer. And my frogspawn had some polyps bail but I believe that was due to water flow. I'm new to this hobby and very new to LPS. All my softies are 100% happy.
