    Nug -

HOw do you add your evap water?

I currently take a gallon jug of evap, and add 1/8 to 2 teaspoons of kent marine kalk mix. I use to add more when I had a 5 gallon jug on a float switch, but it worked out the same per gallon. Do not exceed 2 teaspoons per gallon. You are only supposed to mix enough to last a week.

DO NOT pour directly into tank. It will mess with you pH.
Try to drip it or use a float switch.

    How big is your tank?

That was great Dave. Will do on the email.

I was lazy Matt so it is automaticly fed to the float valve from the RO unit. How else can I do it? can i tap into the line that feds the float valve?

    Nug,
Yes you can do it that way if you wish or just use a drip tube.

Nugio since you have it going directly from your RO I wouldn't mess with it.

I'd use something other than kalk then like B-Ionic. Nautilus has laid out how to use that somewhere around here.

Or drip it to the sump.
I read somewhere that it was 2 drops per second but don't remember the size of that guys tank. I would check or ask Matt about the drip rate if you go that way/

    Matt et all-

If your dripping kalk, you can add as much as you like to the drip solution, ie. more then recommended. The drip solution will reach a saturation point, and no more will be "absorbed" by the water. I use a 20g container with like a cup and a half of kalk in it to drip our facility invert system. The advice on most bottles is wrong, it's not going to "go bad" if used days after preparing it. Talk to any old reefer who knows what their doing, they'll back up what I'm saying.

Thanks G. Makes sense. I forgot to add to let it settle for a couple hours.

I am going to make a mod on my IV so I can drip kalk without clogging it. I'll post some pics when I am done.

Where can i get a drip line? Someone got a pic of one.
Is it a medical supply type IV bag?
Im interested in your mod too Matt seeing as this is the way im probably going to administer the kalk because i dont have any more room under the tank for a large container.
