    I have to agree. In the past I tried Copper and Formalin (not at the same time) and still had losses. Once I tried Hypo (zero losses), I never went back to chemicals.

    Yes, they have studied this in a controlled lab environment. This is not speculation but a fact. Except I don't remember what they said about formalin or if it was addressed in the studies I'm thinking of off the top of my head.

    Even though these have been proven to treat ich, the studies still continue because none of these methods are feasible in the food fish industry. And that's where most of the funding comes from to study such things. Most of these fish are pen raised or something similar, and you can't, of course, treat ocean water. Vaccines have created some immunity, but that's something that is very difficult and costly to implement as well.

    If you do perform hyopsalinity then do at least partial water changes everyday if the quarantine tank isn't cycled to prevent further stress
