Elegance coral has always been on wish list of corals, but my LFS has never got them in. I went in today and they had 3!! I was so excited. I started asking him about them and he advised me not to get one. He said lately that they having been lasting in home aquariums. I decided to not listen and get it anyways- I've always wanted one and how could I pass this up.

Was this a wise thing to do? Does anyone have experience with these. Any tips you could give me would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks so much.

Pics to come soon. I figured I would let it get fully adjusted before I got pics of it.

Are you saying I shouldn't have bought it.

I don't want a salesman at my LFS, this is the owner, I would much rather have him give his honest opinion and try to help me pick something that best suits my tank. I dont need a salesman and they know that. I just choose to ignore him today. He's not one to try to sell me some expensive stuff just to get the sale, he knows when I find something I like and suits my tank Ill buy it.

Well for one I see nothing in your signature about any filtration you have. Elegance corals take prestine water conditions and will not last in a tank with NO3's. I have one that has done good in the last year but I run a NO3 reactor and carbon 24/7. I can actually tell when I need to change the carbon by the look of my elegance. These are two things that you need to have on the tank for that coral to last. This is from my own experience so take it with a grain of salt.
Sorry about not seeing this post earlier as I try not to live on the computer when the kids are home, plus there are not very many people on here with elegances.

Just make sure you research things before you buy them as it will get costly if you don't.

Off hand I don't know. I take my water regulary to get tested at the LFS, I just did this about a week ago, I don't remember exactly levels but they were in check.

I cant afford a good test kit and the LFS does it for free and checks everything for me.

I would almost imagion you will need a de-nitrator for the coral to last long. If you want a cheap one then PM Tangster and he will make you one for about $55 plus shipping and it will take it about 8 weeks to cycle or you can buy the expensive ones that take media replacement. No brainer to me...8 weeks verses money every 6 months...:)
