Duncan Corals - Still having trouble !

    Get that nitrate to below 5 ppm. 25% is a good safe and effective way. When you get your nitrates below 5 i think you will be able to put the other bulb in. I had a worm rock (porites) bleach out when my nitrates were above 20 but it is now fully recovered and spreading with much higher lighting.

    oh okay , well i will do another water change today . any opinions on the lighting , or does everyone bring it down to the nitrates at the end of the day?

    from my test strip , iv got the nitrates down to 30 , from 40 ... changed about another 25% today . i also did a test with my normal tap water and there is 0 nitrate , although most people state it has 40 .

    if i am to get it down to lower than 5ppm , should i just keep doing a 25% change until its down in 24 hr increments?

    I think you dont have enough lighting. Duncans require moderate to high lighting.

    okay i understand that , but question is why is that when i turn the light off last night they all came out ?...

    Alot of corals come out at night to feed. You are running 2 t5 lights. What wattage are they?
