The tank has been inside my house for 24 hours with freshwater in it. Got the fuge pump in and operating and got everything kinda dialed in. So as we speak I'm slowly adding salt and letting it mix. I've got 80lbs of Caribsea Fiji Pink to add once the salt is mixed. Then for the fuge, I've got a 4 month old 10 gallon that will be the sand donor, and I picked up some live rock from the LFS the other day that will go into the fuge also. I'm bored waiting on salt to mix so I figured I'd give anyone who cares a little update.

That's a great lookin scape and thread u got goin on here. Gave me a ton of insight as to my next tank down the road. What did make your mind up about going with the animal style overflow as to many other options that are available to you. If you don't mind me asking :)
And what did that LS set you back?

The bean animal was a no brainer. Quiet, has a DOUBLE backup, and it produces basically zero microbubbles.

I can't remember what the LS cost me cause I bought a bunch of stuff with it that day. I would have to find the receipt.

    Start of Cycle

Well, the tank has had the live sand and saltwater in it running for almost 2 weeks now, but nothing to really start the cycle since I've just been super busy and had no time to mess with the tank at all.

I just finished blowing off the rockwork, scraping the glass (I got in too big of a hurry mixing the salt and had a small calcium precipitation I beleive), and cleaning the filter socks. Once she was all squeaky clean, I dropped in 2 jumbo frozen shrimp. Sit back and fasten your seat belts, the cycle has begun!

Here's a few pics, the water is cloudy from all the work I just did to the tank.

Here is a little spray bar I made for the supply to the fuge, it was just a quick fix since once I added sand to the fuge I had a huge sandstorm. I'm curious as to how other people supply the fuge with water??? (ps, I know the piece of live rock needs dusted)

The fuge was seeded with 20lbs of sand from an established tank and a piece of live rock from the same tank.

And this one is for exactly ;) I finally finished the Bean Animal
