    Those are cool John, is that dry, out of water? Porous little buggers.

    That is how I get my macros, by cropping.

    Yes it is dry, it is the nasuta I bought that did not make it.They were taken with my macro lens. The first shot is the 1:1 ratio full size shot. The second is a crop from the 1:1 shot. Canon has a 5:1 ratio macro that I might get if I get heavy into macro photos. It will focus to a point that the photo is 5X real size.

    Thanks Mel, you can get some very good close ups with standard lenses that have a decent magnification factor and cropping.

    A good tripod and a remore release are big helps if you are looking for close ups.
