Hey there, I have a small yet time sensative concern. My clowns laid eggs. We are today on day 8 and we can see the silver disk eyes. I assume they will hatch tonight. Here's my problem. They did not lay on a removable rock. Immediately behind the rock they laid on, there is the over flow vents at the top and bottom of the overflow. We can't turn off our over flow because our sump overflows. What is the best way to get the little guys out without them being sucked out into the sump? Our last attempt we just removed the rock, but apparently that wasn't their rock of choice this time.

I've watched videos of syphoning and netting. Does anyone have any brilliant insight?
    Here is two terrible pictures.

Oops and I meant we can't turn off our water circulation (pump) not overflow.

:( they hatched. I waited up till 330 with all lights off, nothing. I want to bed and woke up the next morning to no eggs. We salvaged 8. They must have been weak because they all died. They have already layed again, but by day three they had eaten like 90% of the eggs. I don't know why. :( we did just order a rotifers kit, just in case.

oh sorry to hear that...there is always still next time. Just make sure you feed the parents enough so they won't eat their egg...but usually if the eggs are not fertile, they'llbe eaten according to my LFS...mine might hatch tonight w/ fingers crossed..

Well good luck. I actually over feed, I have several things I target feed on top of pellets, flakes and pity feast. I was sad they ate them, but almost happy because they layed on that rock I can't move again. I do have a flower pot in there now, so hopefully they will lay on that instead! Let me know if they hatch. I got my rotifers kit delivered today too! Yay!
