The sooner the better!!! Clarki's are one of the more aggressive clowns out there. If this one is in the tank for too long, it can/will become very territorial and may end up killing the one you add....however, I have seen clowns added to a tank take to each other very quickly too.

What size tank do you have? Do you have a nem for them to host? The bigger the tank the better as far as adding territorial fish. Just my opinion. Good luck!

You may be ok with a tank that size if it is not too crowded. I would still try to get them as close as possible to the same time.

I added a maroon to my 75gal with clarkii who had had the tank to herself for 6 months, now 8 months later the clarkii laid eggs (last night). They seem to not like each other but neither is dead yet and now we have eggs. /shrug
