Don't know alot about clams, but I'd like to get one.

The lighting I have is a Coralife Quad T5HO .
    4 x 54 watts
    2 x 10,000k
    2 x actinic

Anyone have any suggestions about clams that would be ok in a 55gal with this lighting?

Although the CoraLife unit doesn't sport the best reflector, it will still produce plenty of light for any clam in a 55g. I'd suggest switching to ATI bulbs for higher PAR output.

Agree 100% switch to a nice quality spectrum bulb and that fixture will support a clam nicely. I run ATI bulbs in my fixture and they're amazing.

    Sweet, thanks for the info.
I'll look up info on new bulbs.
    Much appreciated!

The sad part is, I just replaced my bulbs.

I agree, ATI bulbs are the way to go. 2x Blue plus, 2x coral plus combo is nice.

You are probably okay with using the bulbs you just bought. When the time comes to get new ones, make the switch to ati.

I have a clam under LEDs but previously had him under a T5 HO from aquatic life (2 bulbs) and then 4 LED strips and he was fine...

He doesnt open his mantle as much as I would like though...not sure what thats all about...
