Could I catch the two Angels and move them to my 30 gallon? Would they start fighting and stop laying eggs? What are the chances that any of the fry will survive given even the best of conditions?

Very interesting. I had a Potters angel and Rock Beauty in a 55 gallon tank. It was my first tank(1979) and we did'nt know any better. They got along like peanut butter and jelly which is what we named them. Never left each others side. You might try a brine shrimp net to scoop them out or even a plankton net if you can find one. As far as rearing them maybe someone on here has bred angels before and can help you with that part. It doesn't sound like its going to be easy. You will definitely want to remove whatever mechanical filtration you have. Or clean it often so you don't get an ammonia or nitrite spike. Good luck and let us know what happens.8) O yeah not sure if I missed it but what size tank are they in?

Sunday I was able to get a gallon out using a vaccum and a bucket. You could see the stuff floating all over the top of the bucket of water. Is it possible I could put them in my 30 gallon? The only thing in there are a few crabs and snails and a bunch of dead rock that is coming to life. Would this be a better place for them? Wonder if I'll damage them in th move?

I think the best thing to do right now is read about what is involved with breeding and rearing angel fish. It may be a lot more involved than you think it is and require a lot more money and diligence than you have. For the time being, leave the fish where they are, do a bunch of water changes and run carbon 24/7.

They are in a 95 gallon tank right now. I kept thinking it was algae and worked my buns off trying to get it out. Maybe I could put some in the bio cube, some in the 30, some in a bucket with an aerator, some in the main tank, make a rock rubble pile and squirt some in, and send some to a friends house. I guess that would pretty much give me a better chance of something surviving....right?

Assuming that what you're seeing is fish eggs and that the eggs are even viable (just because the female laid them and the male fertilized them, doesn't mean that it will "work"), do you know what you will need to feed the fry once they hatch?

I have a canister filter that runs 24/7 so I will keep it running. I just hope that I can get a few to survive and I will read more articles on breeding Angels after all...if we forget they are different...they are just Angel fish right? Should have most of the same habits and traits....and I'm hoping that getting them to breed was the hard part....positive thinking...it's all downhill from here....I hope.

I read an article that said the food has to be smaller than a rotifer but it's been awhile and I will have to look it up to make sure. Some of my cichlid fry eat Daphnia and Baby Brine but I 'm sure that is too big for them.

It never occured to me that the eggs hadn't been fertilized...oh... ...no... :bigcry:

yes pretty right now, but its not going to look so pretty once its been running a bit. lol still very cool looking...down side, i would want it to be clean all the time. and that would get old fast i think

Wait a minute.... the fish are feeding at the top and I am seeing little tiny dead white things floating in the water and have seen the fish eating these dead white things. I am sure they have been fertilized, some of them anyway.
So food could be the problem. Maybe try putting in some Coral Accel tonight. Would that be small enough for them I wonder?
