Hey everyone. Thanks for reading. I would like to know your opinions on the following dilema.

About a month ago, I bought some coral frags. Everything looked really nice (still does actually). The issue is with a freebie zoa that was thrown in. I noticed what I suspected to be Bryopsis so the freebie went directly into the quarintine. Well my suspission was correct and now I have bryopsis all over the quarintine tank. I am not really worried about getting it out as I'll just empty the tank and do a bleach bath to kill it. Yeah ill have to re-cycle the tank but i think its the easiest way to solve the issue.

My question is: how do I save the zoa frag? they are decent looking zoas and while i was observing them, i noticed a feather duster hich hiker on the frag as well. I already removed the frag from the plug which was overgrown but there is still a small amount on the frag and I am afraid of having the bryopsis overtake again. Untill I know it is totally removed, that thing is not going into my DT.

Would smothering everything up to the base of each pylop with superglue solve this issue? How long do you think that I would be able to leave the frag out of a tank while the QT is having its bleach bath?

Try hydrogen peroxide dosing. Do some 3reef searches and see if it is for you.

I've read about using the Kent. Maybe that's what I'll need to do. Apparently it's not actually the magnesium but something else in the Kent that does the trick.

If I do Kent maybe I'll not take the whole qt down. I can use a razor blade and a siphon to remove most of it

If you can, spot treat with a bleach solution. Or, try the super glue to smoother it.

I had bryopsis in my tank that hit right after my diatom cycle. The Kent Mg did the trick, no adverse effects, so if you go this route just leave the frag in there while you treat so you don't get any in the DT.

I don't remember how long it took but i want to say it was 2 or 3 weeks. Just raise it to 1600 and keep it there until it is all gone.
