Well first off there is no such thing as a minor Bryopsis problem ): I have been waging war on it for 2 month preceding me being laid up then it had full run for 6 months and I started to get back at it a month or so ago.. Trying a new product now to see if it will kill it out ? Its touted as a Bryopsis killer ????? If it does what its supposed to do I'll post it all here . expensive as all get out but ??? At this point I'd pay about anything to avoid ripping the entire system down and tossing it all out . We had it under raps for a month or so but about 3 weeks ago it reappeared with a vengeance.

Oh and if you have anything eating it ? Its either not Bryopsis or you are onto something , But a Tang would wipe about any other algae right out.. Bryopsis there are rumors of a few slugs that well feed on it ? But I have yet to find one for sure that will from any people I know.

    Bryopsis

First time I had a bryopsis problem I bought a sea hare and he ate everything in a few days. I wish I kept him. I dose with kalk morning and night to get rid of any phosphaes that I do not have anyway. If I feed fish every other day will they be ok? That might help it die. If you manually remove it with your hand the bryopis usually comes back to spread to a new piece of rock.

What do you guys think about raising the magnesium to 1700. They say it kills the bryopsis.

Well I fed my fish once or twice a week and no it would not harm your's to be fed every few days would actually be better . As for a sea hair eating a true bryopsis It would have died , Bryopsis is to everything I have yet to find that would ever get near it as is Rat Poison to a rat it kills them thats why nothing will eat it. I have heard it said and have posted the names of a few supposedly slugs that will feed on it ? But I have yet talked to anyone who knows where to find them .

I gut off all lights to my tank for 4 weeks it killed it out we thought its back and nothing is touching it still as nothing will . As for dosing with lime to bind up PO4's thats all its doing is binding it up but only if you keep the PH above 8.5 under that the PO4 will become soluble again you need to test for PO4 and use a Ferric oxide and a reactor for it. As for Magnesium LOL I hit mine with Epsom salts to 1,800 PPM plus then all said you have to use Magnesium Chloride! I got that kicked the mag level to 2.900 ppm then I was told oh it has to be Kent's Tech M its a special blend ??? Well after 2 months with a mag. level of 4,000ppm made no difference at all. Buddy if water quality had any effect on this stuff I would not have a Bryopsis issue MY ORP is 390 to 420 My PO4 and NO3 are Nada on a low resolution test and Ca Mag and DKH is kept rock solid with a Ca reactor

Now I don't do water changes ! But to get my Magnesium back from 4,000 Plus I did about 300 Gal in a week or two period had no effect and I have a great skimmer and a fuge and Ozone and everything is perfect , Except the algae is coming back.. ): I hope this new juice works as they say it will ???

10 threads on the same topic form the same persons does not make any sense. Wouldn't it have been better to continue 1 thread to have all the information in 1 place.

It all came back in a few months Just more of it then before ..
