So I haven't posted in awhile so here is my update. I am currently under contract for a very nice townhome. It comes with a 150 gallon 3 foot long 5 foot wide 2 foot deep freshwater tank. Now the plan is to sell all the fish in the tank out and convert it into saltwater ASAP! And the plans are 50/50 tank a lot of fish and a decent amount of softy corals. Now any advice would be awesome on this build and I will defiantly keep you guys posted!

Awesome! First, congrats on then new place.

    1. I'd drill the 150 and add a gla$$-holes kit. Get the return kit as well.
    2. build a stand.
    3. get the biggest sump you can fit into the stand.
    4. upgrade to the equipment you'll need for the bigger tank. skimmer, pumps (maybe look at the jebao wp40 series)
    5. upgrade the lights. reefbreeders controllable or budgets....
    6. upgrading that much is like starting from scratch, it may take a while but if you do it in steps and don't rush it, you could have a kickin' system!

    good luck!

Haha forgot to add. It's already on a stand already comes with a huge sump already drilled out. I have a skimmer rated for 150. I plan on redoing all the plumbing and cleaning everything out top to bottom. And will take it one step at a time.

Hey, if your measurements are accurate - the tank is bigger than you think - 3x5x2 is about 230 US gallons.

Haha it mmiiiiighhht be a huge factor as to why I bought the house! Haha but I love the house and the man who built this set up did it very well and you can tell he loved the hobby. I would like to get ahold of the owner and ask for exact sizes so it's not a guessing game.

Yeah, it sounds great!! Definatley want to check on the exact dimensions though - it will impact what you have to order (pumps, skimmers, etc.). I have a 250 gallon in wall in my house and it is a nice sized tank - simmilar in dimension to what you posted...which is what made me question ths gallonage in the first place. I love the tank. I have mine set up as a reef tank.
