+1 took the words right out of my fingers. though they are not (yet) lethal values its largely enough to make the fish feel "uncomfortable"

indeed you have those three options. what you cold do perhaps to give a chance to your bacteria to "catch up" is place some fish in the established bio cube (the smaller more aggressive ones), this would balance out the bio load a bit and give more room to the tangs.

however be careful when re-introducing the fish from the bio-cube as there will most certainly be territorial disputes (hence why i suggest the more aggressive ones like the YTBD)

The blue tang is doing a little better then last night its swimming around a little bit at least but its still breathing heavy.

Alright so if i use the biocube as a QT take at the moment and do a copper treatment what is the process of cleaning it after, cause i was planning on using that for another tank setup? I plan on getting a QT tank set up and im thinking i might try to copper treatment....not really my first choice but i can better watch this one with my work schedule. What type of filter should i put on a QT and should i bother with a powerhead?

Also with copper treatment on that like it says 4 week treatment but in the copper treatment it says 14 days which is correct.

And thanks everyone for all the help!!

Wait for more advice from people who have a qt but the cleaning process would have to be complete, meaning dismantling and re assembly. If you plan to use the cube as a dt then your better off using a large plastic container for the qt. with a heater a pump and airstone and maybe some sort of artificial cave or rock to provide the fish with a place to feel safe

Hello , I'm going through a velvet and ick breakout right now , after adding a naso tang to my tank , which looked like perfect Health , Lemmon peel angel looked horrible 2 days ago , but now he and the other fish look like their getting over it , I started using herbtana and Artemiss , things are looking much better after 5 days of treatment , and I have had ick and velvet wipe out lots of my fish in the past , this medication is totally reef safe , first you add herbtana then 12 hours later add Artemiss ,do this for 10 days , leave your fish in your tank and boost their immune system up to fight the ick, the sooner you start this the better chance your fish have , it's working for me ,I've been having marine tanks for 20 yrs and this product is so for the best I've used make sure your other pars are good , get .meds in tank soon as you can , follow directions on bottle... Good Luck

One more thing I want to add is ,if you take them out of tank to medicine tank and treat with copper , my experience they get more stressed out then die from the disease , I personally , never had luck saving fish by taking them out of tank , I did try ick attack med , but still lost fish with that , the fish we buy ,will always have parasites on them and stress will make them multiply , but if you treat your tank with the herbtana and Artemiss when a new fish is added to tank , they all will have a better immune system .better chance to live ,this is what I experienced

I just did a little quick research on those products some said it helps and some said it doesnt how do u dose your tanks with it? But they only tried the herbtana. Im assuming u need both for it to work correctly

The herbtana is the expellant for the parasitic disease the Artemiss is the natural expellant for the bacterial disease , one two punch , u have to use both for best results meds run at my lfs 32.00 for both says it treats 118 gallons for 10 days I called the company , and talked to the specialist , about it , I tell you my fish looked bad and now there not rubbing against the rock ,my angel is swimming normal , I am excited that I found this meds , in my 20 year I never had luck with any product as this , not to say it will work for every one but ,it's doing so great for my sick fish , velvet is one of the hardest diseases they get to cure worse then ick ,usually it kills fish within days .most med for velvet have copper and aren't safe for reef , inverts , good luck

This sounds a little iffy to me in terms of too good to be true, is there anyone else out there that have tried these remedies? I would love to hear confirmation of others using those products - where do you purchase them from?

You are right, these products do nothing to kill the parasite. There are a million peer reviewed scientific journals out there in the aquaculture sector as to what actually works.

When people see it disappear after using such products, its pretty much a coincidence. Mind you, when our fish are sick, we pay more attention to them and feed them better. That in itself can boost the immune system enough to help. It's going to either go away or fester. If the fish beats it and survives, we think it was the treatment we implemented and not the fishes natural immunity. Ya just gotta roll with scientific data where they've done legit studies already.

I've tried everything out there for fun..... doesn't work.
