Any vodka dosing guru's in here?

    You could try a alge scrubber they take a little time but are effective and very easy to make and don't take up a lot of space in the sump or you could buy one. Just another option than carbon dosing. I tumble bio pellets and use an diy alge scrubber and feed fish a lot.
    what kinda of light do you have could help with the alge if the bulbs are old.

    I built an ATS, the cost was very little. My advice if you go this route is to enclose it as best you can. Mine got to the point it was splashed gallons of water out between scrapings.

    Here is mine I just teed off the main return and put a valve on it to control the water flow cut a slit in pvc picked up plastic mesh from the craft section at Walmart and made sure it touched the water to keep the splashing to a minimum only took half hour to do our so. [​IMG]

    I switched from biopellets to a small ATS and dosing about 3ml a day of vodka. That has been able to stabilize my tank greatly and nutrient control for both phosphates and nitrates.
