    Ok, new problem.

So the Cyano that has been plaguing my tank is finally starting to diminish, the bryopsis is still growing but just was able to start adding the Kent Tech Mg today. So hoping that will start to go away.

The new issue is what looks like green hair algae growing in patches everywhere and I scrubbed the glass in the DT this morning when I did a WC and now the glass is covered again. Any suggestions why this might happen? The algae in my fuge is growing and is fairly small still. Would these issues be resolved once the fuge algae gets larger and I just need to wait. I had added chemipure elite last week and added a protein skimmer. If you need any other info just let me know.

you'll need to intervene before relying on the algae. Do you have just regular algae in the fuge or macroalgae? There's got to be a phosphate issue. it will just keep growing in the DT until you reduce it.

How old is the tank? Do you siphon your sand bed?

I have Macro algae in there, probably just not enough. I have done a 5g WC this week and last week which is about 5%. My phosphate test is old so I don't know how effective it is but i will check it later tonight, just want to give it a little time to turn the water a few more times.

I just had cyano and was able to kill it. Not sure if you got rid of it or not. But if not here is what I did. Also good videos out there.
You'll need to dose with clemiclean. Turn off skimmer and UV. wait 24-48 hours. Siphon all algae out including on top of sand bed. Repeat if not gone but should be because the meds work great

The Cyano is pretty much all gone, some different kinds of green algae are plaguing the DT now. There is Bryopsis still growing and possibly hair algae and something that looks like cyano but is lighter green.

I am really not a big fan of running chemicals so those will be my last resort.

As of now the "hair" algae is only in a couple spots and doesn't seem to be spreading and the slimy green crap is not as bad as the cyano was so I am not too worried about it. I have noticed my macro in my fuge is growing so I am hoping that may start to starve the other crap out soon.

Also thinking about building a ATS, so if anyone has any experience they would like to share about those, good or bad, I would like to hear it.
