Hello everyone, I just wanted to know if three AI Hydra 26s would work with a mixed reef on an SR-120 aquarium (72" x 24" x 16").

    Thanks in advance everyone!

IMG_8513.JPG My 220 has the same foot print. I'd go three 52's you'll be happy you did.

Hmmm, are you sure that the 52s are needed for my height, or is it more of a length and width issue?

Correct. I'd be more concerned with foot print rather than height.

Thank you for your input on the Hyrdas. About $600 a pop is pretty steep, do you have any other suggestions? Any experience with the maxspect ethereals? Thanks in advance!

PS I just looked at your showcase thread, you've got an awesome reef going on.

Thank you. You could probably get away with 26's, but I would supplement with some T5's.

I have the 26 and you could get away with using it, but I think you would have to max it out to cover the tank and then you lose the option to play with the color options. Do like civic, get the 52's and never have to worry about other lights. They are pricey, but AI does it right.

They are pretty amazing lights. I was in your boat when looking to change from MH. I did a lot of research. As hard as it was for me to spend that much money and get the AI hydra 52 HD+, I am glad that I did.
