Acans

Does my Acan look healthy? To me it should be a little more inflated. The smaller heads look good to me, but I'm new to Acans so I'm not to sure. I have read that you should feed these guys often, Tan from Tidal Gardens says feed them as much as a non-photosynthetic coral... Just want to see how often that would be and how often do you guys feed yours? Thanks

It looks fine Cody.If you want it to grow faster you can target feed it but it really isn't necessary if you have fish present.I would feed 2 times a week just keep in mind that they have very slow digestive systems and larger pieces can rot inside them before they are consumed.Planktonic foods are best or small pellets.

 

Thanks Vinny, I feed it pellets today and reef roids a few days ago.. I will stick to twice a week thanks again bro.

It looks good. I have never fed my acans. Or any of my coral for that matter.
BTW its near impossible to make all coral happy. Try to find a happy medium. Chasing numbers and dosing a bunch of additives will only hurt that happy medium you are try to achieve.
