I have clam envy - the one I picked up is still not doing well.

Just picked up this beauty this morning, store had it labeled as Squamos but maybe a Deresa? Anywho, I am soooo stoked to finally have a clam in my tank again!

Zissou, that's definitely a deresa. Also, let your LFS know because squamosa clams are typically more expensive. That's a good score though, congrats! Vinny, tank is slowly coming around but I lost a few acanthus colonies which is weird because I've never had an issue with them. Corals have some coloring up to do as well so we're just watching the reef carefully and patiently. Mike, something is most likely disturbing the clam. After the lights go out for a few hours I'd check under its shell, the rim and the chutes. Could be getting nipped as well.

not trying to jack the post - but yes checked for snails, there are none. It was getting nipped by the blue throat but I moved it downstairs. just a purple tang in the tank and a cleaner shrimp. It was actually more open tonight when I got home than it has been

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
It's a Derasa, no doubt in mind. Squamosa cost more, so if they charged you for the cost of a Squamosa that might be an issue.

Good looking out fellow reefers, I paid $45 and it is 2 1/2 in so I can't be too mad. I'm excited to see how it progresses in my tank.

That is a good price for a Derasa.

It's a good looking clam, be happy.
