Just got another clam. Blue and black maxima. Maybe 2" so it's small. But love the color. LFS happen to get 10 clams in today so got to pick the best one.
That makes 3 clams for me. And I'll keep buying them as I find them!

I had a beautiful ultra blue maxima. One morning after introducing a new rock to my tank I found my clam dead with a hole in the bottom of it. I think it was a bristle worm, but my trap keeps coming up empty. Any ideas?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I doubt the bristle worm was the culprit, another type of predatory worm perhaps. A bristle worm will clean up a dead and dying clam but not a healthy one.

Clams are finicky sometimes, could be water chemistry, pyramid snails, pinched mantle disease to name a few.

    Welcome to 3reef BTW. :)

My new clam. Picked up this maxima yesterday. Clams don't come by often out here so I'm pretty happy today. Finally a maxima!!!:)
