Its better to test ph right before the lights turn off. If 7.8 was in the morning, thats pretty normal. My ph in the morning is sometimes at 7.7. Salifert is hard to come by, the rumor is that the guy who owns Salifert is the same guy who makes all of the components and he doesnt let ANYONE else make it and he is sick. All of my LFS are out of Salifert, even DRfoster and smith are back ordered.
