Steady water level

Hi everyone hope your having a good weekend.
My question is... what is the best way to maintain a steady water level for your system?
I have a float valve drilled into my sump about halfway up attached to a 25 gpd RO/DI unit, the pressure mechanism never seems to work to shut off the flow from the RO unit so it always overflows if left unattended, my water chemistry gets messed up and I always seem to lose a starfish.
Could one of you geniuses help a noob out

Your water addition, I don't think was what killed your Sea Star, however with the 25gallon RO/DI filtration...I would go with making it in a five gallon bucket or so and add the water that way to cut down on the possible overflow of the water out of your tank. Maybe try to reconfigure the float valve some in efforts to help with that problem!

HI,
I read somewhere that many sandsifting stars can stave to death if the tank isn't well established , I starved a little scotter blenny during my learning cuve man I feel bad, I do love my LM Bleemy he's fat and cute and eats alot of that algae as does my angel.
