| I don't think I'd do the tap water ... But you might be one in the thousands ? Good luck with with it.. But remember what minerals and element that go in there stay in there iron copper leads manganese and such even heavy metals . I'd run a metal sponge now to just be on the safe side _________ Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible (Doug Larson) |

I'll buy 45lbs of Indonesian LR. Tank looks definitely better now. I'm switching to tap water instead of RO/DI | I also just use tap water...have done so for long time. Make sure to use a good water conditioner like Amquel or any dozens of other...gets rid of any chlorine or clorimines...
Also aerate it well before use...

Instead of chlorine, high doze of ozone is used to sterilize it. _________ 75gal. Rio240 JEWEL aquarium

| Yeah! There were so many "goodies" that they lost control on some. Only last year officially more than 30 people got wasted because of intoxication with mushrooms. They are under strict control now... |

| Yet another update!
After major water change (50%), substrate cleaning, removal of fancy rocks, my tank is doing great! No problems with algae blooms (I use tap water), water parameters ultra stable. I'm getting 45lbs of Fiji LR at the beginning of Jan 2008. I'm still tweaking water parameters. My desired Ca/Mg (~430/1400 ppm).
Cheers! Life is better now |
