FYI

This weekend had new "RHS-10ATC" setting "verified" against the "master" refractometer used by the Seattle Aquarium ("special job", not a service normally provided the public - - found the right guy to do for me, which he did, as long as I never told anyone...so forget all of the above after reading... )

The "default setting" it came with was perfect. No adjustment necessary...

I'll be getting a refrac..but at the moment, I was wondering if anyone one has ever used the old float type hydrometer? I just want to get the salt close to right when I start adding the water to the tank for the first cycle. I've got one I used when I was making beer and wine a long time ago and it was very accurate as far as the amount of alcohol was being produced compared to the solids in solution.

Are these type hydrometers not accurate enough or will it be sufficient? Or does anyone even know. It is easy to keep clean of any build up as it is glass and has it's own float tube for ease of reading.
