So i'm trying to find a new lfs that's closer to home. i found one online who has a website, and they say the sell catalina saltwater, ro mixed saltwater, and ro freshwater. Now the current lfs that i use calls their water synthetic saltwater, and according to my hydrometer, the salanity is at 1.025, are these the same as ro/di?

I would check with your LFS what they use to make up their synthetic sea water, it should be RO or RO/DI

Im not sure what they mean by "Catalina SW", I would try to acquire a better definition. "Synthetic SW" sounds like RO or RO/DI water mixed with a salt mix. I would ask them to give you a better definition.

ok, i know catalina is a local island that we have here in oc, so i'm not sure if that's what they mean? i read their reviews, one was about the RO water, and someone said they went to get ro freshwater and apparently the employee made a mistake and gave the customer saltwater, and killed off their tank and lost $300 and plans on sueing them down the line if they don't refund their money, and i guess the employee denied that he gave the person saltwater.

could be a one time incodent though, the other two reviews about the place were good

not sure, they might, i've only been to one lfs since getting into the hobby which is the one that i won't be going to anymore, but they didn't sell any NSW, maybe that's what the catalina sw is
