Default Purple Up precipitate

I've just about finished my first bottle of Purple Up (the stuff has worked great in my tank!) and I'm pretty sure there's a thick layer of precipitate at the bottom of the bottle. Does anyone know what this truly is? I'm guessing it's probably calcium or aragonite (the 2 ingredients the bottle lists) and I'm wondering if there'd be any benefit (and more importantly no harm) in filling the bottle back up with RO water, mixing it up and using it as a supplement.
Just a thought...yes, I'm a cheap bastard...but Reduce, Reuse, Recycle is one of my favorite mantras...

Yup, I did...I wish I had made a note of when I bought the bottle. Wonder if it's just been sitting too long. Using only half a capful every night (when I remember) made it last a good long while.

you are suppose to turn it upside down and shake it "like a polaroid picture", haha.

I shake the crap out of it. If it doesnt come out real thick, you havent shaken it enough.

It is ok to mix it up and add RO/DI water to the bottle and reuse it. It is an accumulation of calcium/aragonite. Yes as mentioned, best to really shake it up well before adding.
I love purple up though as it works great for coralline algae especially.

All it is made of is Aragramight and boosted Magnesium and and touch of Iodide they Add Glycerin to make it stay suspended in solution . Same type of Glycerin that is used to thicken cough syrups and many Phytoplankton formula's You can use water .. I make a foumulia that the shop in Richmond sell at 1/2 the cost and twice the bottle size and it won't stay on the shelf LOL Works better the customers all say.. Selling alot of bottles every month

Default Just keep adding a little R/o

HI,
If you add r/o to the bottle and shake it will slowly dissolve alittle till it reaches a saturation point of the water use it till its gone and repeat till the calcium carbonate is gone,
Its a never ending source of calcium.
Ps be sure you need calcium before you add it or you may start a little precip, also mag stops the reaction in the tank if your calcium levels are pretty high I shoot for around 1,200 for the mag.
Doug
