| I have been switching all my Salifert kits out to Elos, much better test kit and easy to use. _________ Scott 265g (Peninsula)

| Everyone has them on back order seems like I know we could not get them supposed to get 12 of each this week from our supplier. Seems they at Salifert are way behind in supply . Had some quality control issues as I was told .. But supposedly they are back up to speed now ?

| I would try Premium Aquatics INC - live rock and aquarium supply or Aquarium supplies for your tropical fish tank, saltwater fish tank, saltwater aquarium fish, freshwater aquarium fish & reef aquarium. Aquarium filters, aquarium lighting, aquarium tanks, protein skimmers & more for your reef tank. I use and trust both of these sites. I agree with Otty about Elos, Salifert supposedly has figured their issues out but Elos are Lab grade test kits. Perhaps just as important to me is their ease of use, much easier to use & read than Salifert IMO. On average $10 more a peice than Salifert. I just dropped $125 on Elos Mg, Nitrate, Phosphate, and Ammonia kits at Marinedepot. _________ 55 gallon slowly growing reef aquarium, 85 lbs. live rock, 2 1/2" sandbed, 1 False Percula Clown, 1 Sixline Wrasse, 1 Blue Hippo Tang, Tetratec PF500 filter, 2 110 watt URI Super Actinic VHO actinics, 2 250 watt metal halides with Reef Optix 2 reflectors powered by Blue Wave 3 ballast, born 1/3/08 My Tank Thread My Tank Video |

Marinedepot is wherefound that they had them in stock. Luna |

| There was some issue But do not by any until or unless you know they are new ! Many of the ones floating around now are crap.. Thats was a real problem from everyone .. All we had in our last order in Dec, where far far from accurate. I myself have not seen them or used them.. The part time Kid at our shop damn near wiped it all out .. I have everything automated and there is never any large swings in any of the water systems parameters..
After the kits I had for testing where used up they went to use the new ones and like the test showed the DKH was way off I can't recall if it was saying it was low of to high ? As did the Ca and Mag and POs No3 all where whacked. I was not able to talk or ask a question of they tried to correct the water and started to harm the corals all where not looking good. Then the word came down what was up with the test kits . They did about a 1,000 gallon water change and let it all stable in Jan to Feb and all came back looking good. So needles to say they are not testing water just letting everything run by my setting and the computer and controller's
I really just found the story out this last Monday had a couple of orders for the kits I called the shop got the story called the wholesaler and he gave mt the story and said new ones where on the way and of the highest quality ? I hope to get our allotment Tomorrow thats what I was told by our rep. |

I just bought the basic 4 last week from DFS and actually they didn't have color charts in two so maybe there is some fact in all this. Do you have or your source anything to confirm this? I'd like to have them all replaced. I'm wondering if my kits are any good now. This tank has been up for 8 years and suddenly, with the arrival of a new kit, my nitrites are sky rockteting and not sure why yet. |
